In 2013 Team Traction Control will compete in the ACU National Endurance Series, run by Hottrax Motorsport, selected rounds of Pirelli Superstock 1000 and chosen other road or track events.
Meet the team
Team Principal: Keith Flint
Winner of the 2012 Clubman Championship, Prodigy frontman and motorcycle enthusiast, Keith needs no introduction. TTC is his baby, one we are all very proud to look after.
Rider: Steve Mercer
Isle of Mann TT rider, World Endurance competitor and all-round nice guy, we are delighted to welcome Steve to the team this year. He can usually be found somewhere near the tea urn, mug in hand, dispensing his own particular style of race-based rhyming slang.
Rider: Ben Neeves
Ben was instrumental in our Clubman Championship win in 2012. As well as riding for Team Traction Control Ben also rides in the MRO Championship and can also often be found throwing his Porsche round the Nurburgring. There’s always a can of cold soup nearby, and when he’s not riding bikes he’s spinning discs as a DJ.
Rider: Michael Neeves
As MCN’s senior road tester, there are very few bikes that Michael hasn’t ridden. A long-time backroom member of the TTC team, 2013 sees Neevsy bringing his considerable experience to at least one race for us. Always the voice of reason and experience, Michael brings great expertise to the team.
Crew chief: Simon Green
Simon Green has been involved with motorcycle racing for over 23 years. Starting as a rider at club level whilst working for a motorcycle shop as a mechanic, Simon rapidly progressed to full time race technician, soon moving to a factory WSBK team. Crew Chief duties followed and for the last 10 years Simon has worked in the top BSB teams, taking 3 British titles.
Technician: James Wharlow
Jim is a stalwart of the TTC team. His calm and collected exterior is a leveller to garage. There is nothing that fazes our Jim – as long as he’s got a can of Mr Sheen to hand he’s happy. Jim runs daily, so he can be sure he can sprint off to retrieve the transponder when needed.
Madge looks after the race strategy and his unique sense of humour brings a certain energy to the team. A motorcycle racing anorak, Madge also takes his GSXR1000 out to track days – usually only the warm ones in Spain! Can be found on the pitwall, easily identifiable by his seemingly never-ending range of camouflage wear.
Communications: Stacey Clegg
Often found moaning about the weather, Stacey looks after team communications. Mostly seen with a clipboard in hand, rounding the team up for meetings and pranging the team van. Always sent to sort out the problems and affectionately known as ‘team Mum’. A term she pretends not to like.
