American James Rispoli will make his Motorpoint British Supersport Championship debut this week on track at Cartagena in Spain as Keith Flint’s Team Traction Control test for the first time this season.
Rispoli will make his first Supersport appearance with the team after making his British debut wildcarding in 2012 and appearing for the team in the Superstock class at last season’s Brands Hatch finale. The 22 year-old New Yorker has already tasted success in the United States of America in the AMA Pro Supersport National Championships, celebrating four consecutive AMA Pro Supersport Championships in two seasons.
Rispoli said: “Well we arrived in Spain for our first test with the new team and I couldn’t be more excited. All of the off track training has paid off and now I can’t wait to get on my new bike with the new team and knock the rust off. My goals for the test is to learn the track, work with the team and get up to speed. We want to have competitive times but that won’t be our main focus. We have a lot of testing to complete and we will be looking on day three or four to do some long runs and race simulations to get use to the new Pirelli tyres. I really look forward to getting to work and getting the entire team to gel together for a fantastic season.”
