Although the first race at Brands Hatch was a weather-beaten affair the elements couldn’t wipe the smiles off the faces of Steve Mercer and James Rispoli as they took to the track on their stunning Suzuki GSXRs. In fact, the new look TTC livery has caused quite a stir from the off, with many requests for Team clothing coming in from fans on the TTC Twitter and Facebook page – all satisfied with good news that it will be readily available on TeamTractionControl.com in a few weeks.

As the weekend progressed the boys battled that changing weather and a moving schedule due to some other riders hitting the deck and a couple of oil spills. All the time though, both riders improved their times and consistency and the excitement in the camp during the Supersport race on Sunday was palpable. James rode a solid race given his lack of wet race experience (thats AMA for you) and Steve got everyone cheering as he held onto a fantastic 3rd place in the Evo class. A superb debut weekend for the team and one happy Guv’nor.
In the short gap between Rounds 1 & 2 the TTC boys had little time to rest. The crew got on with preparing for Oulton Park with a test day last friday, but Steve Mercer was about to hit the big time as he joined team owner Keith Flint on the MotoGP Tonight live show on BT Sport. Steve, who is racing in the British Supersport Evo series, is focused on his road racing campaign, which starts at the North West 200 on the 10th May. On the show he didn’t let nerves conquer him and, along with Keith, got to show-off the TTC Suzuki in the flesh and tell the punters all about this incredible team.

“Haha I was pretty nervous, I need to scratch up on my PR and I’m still struggling to get the make-up and eyeliner off, haha. No, it was great fun being there with Keith. I had a go on their race motorbike simulator which was fun. Almost as fun as Keith braking it on the live show!”
