Oulton Park Race Weekend

so the week started wednesday and it feels like a mile off now;;; by comin’ down and doing a track day,, it left us with a day off before hottrax practice;;;: so we went to slingshot racing to see jim,, a mate of mark’s;;;/ and yeah it was a road trip that was meant to be a few miles down the road that ended up being hundreds… but was really good fun, we made it a really good laugh and was a good day off:…://

so rolled back for friday practice and got 2 seconds off my best time;;;- down into the 50s dead// was hoping for a 49 but happy with the 50;;; then it rained so got out and got some good practice in cos we knew race day was gonna be wet;;.:: we also had ben with us,, a new rider and teammate for me,::; and the really cool thing was me and ben went out and rode together and really dragged each other on;;; we’re quite similar in pace and it was just a really good vibe to ride together cos let’s be honest ;;; this riding thing is all about the head,, it needs to be in a good place and you need to be having fun;;. but you know,, still take it serious;; you gotta rock it, you gotta do your best,, and try and get a result..

then friday night me and ben hung out ,,, both staying on track in the paddock;;; and ben said to me::: // i want rain, and i wanna win,,,,, so I said, i’ll take that,, good lad, yeah!! so buzzed off his optimism there,,,, - and we got both…. we got the rain,, we got the win;;;!

and to be quite honest, even with all the race threw at you;;; / low sunlight,, glinting off of a wet track,, absolute fucking monsoon rain,, changing circuit so you never really knew where you was;;; / i really enjoyed it because you’re constantly trying to find the grip,,, push yourself out the bends,, and get yourself in a rhythm but not letting that rhythm slow you down;;;

so yeah i cant tell you how much I enjoyed raceday,, was a birthday race for me, and to get a win…. i cannot tell you how fucking chuffed i am, it really means a lot to me ,,, really deep down ;;; i love this sport ,,, i love racing motorcycles ;; and these guys here at hottrax are such a cool bunch of guys ;;;,, this win means a lot and let me tell you,, it’s a real team effort – a great team and we got a great result///
